Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Who in Harrisons looks after my property?

A: An experienced Property Manager will be allocated to oversee the managing of your property. It makes life a lot easier having one point of contact in anything in our lives!

Q: Is it better to rent my property furnished or unfurnished?

A: There is little difference in valuation of rent for furnished or unfurnished. Both are as popular, and demand can fluctuate over short periods of time for either.

Q: Do you carry out Credit and Reference Checks on a prospective tenant?

A: Harrisons is affiliated with one of the most reputable credit agencies. Every prospective tenant is subject to financial checks.

Q: Should I have the gas and electrical appliances checked?

A: Gas Safety Testing is a legal requirement when renting out property. This is due annually and must be carried out by a Corgi Registered Plumber. Electrical appliance testing currently is not a legal requirement but is advisable. Harrisons will organise these tests on behalf of its clients.

Q: What is the minimum letting period?

A: Most tenancies are on an assured shorthold basis for an initial period of 6 months. In some cases where the landlord agrees there can be a shorter term.

Q: I am looking to buy a property for investment reasons in order to rent it out. Where are the best areas for buy to let in Norfolk?

A: Investing in property, if purchased correctly, offer’s one of the soundest investments you could make long term. Buy to Let is the way forward! Contact Vanessa at Harrisons Property Management who will be delighted to advise you on potential property investments and the Hotspots!
